Is it possible to save a picture that is sent to you using the stock messaging program on the Droid? If not what is a good replacement app will let me do this?

When creating shortcuts to call or message someone is there a way to get rid of the M (H, W, etc) that is put in the upper left corner of the icon on my screen? I don't mind the little phone or convo. icons in the right corner but the M is just too big and covers up a good bit of the icon :(

to save pictures just long press on the pic and tap "Save attached to SD"
As for the contact question, I'm not sure.

Edit: I thought 2.1 did away with that style of contact and made it more a menu like feature. Are you using 2.1?

This is not working for me. What exactly does "long press" mean? Just tap and hold? Are you doing that from the screen where you read the message, or after you tap the image to make it larger?
