Root Saving TXT messages from ROM to ROM

I will attempt to try nextBeast v1.0 again tonight or tomorrow

I have NexTheme and TiBackup.. what do I need to restore to get the TXT messages to appear once i switch?

I have gotten TiBackup to work with AK notepad.. but cannot get the TXT messages restored..

I use MyBackUp Pro for SMS/MMS and call log, TiBu for everything else. MBP works perfectly to restore my messages every time.

I "think" TitBackup will do this. I don't need to save them so I never noticed.

TiBu will do this, it is under SMS/Calls or something like that. You have to reboot your phone after you restore them or you wont see them...

BTW for those that don't know the Green colored system settings in TiBu are the ones that should be safe to restore after a ROM switch, the Red ones are the ones that you should shy away from restoring...

(and yes the SMS/MMS/APN one is green )

LOL no problem... yea the Red system settings are the ones that can cause FC problems when going from ROM to ROM. I pretty much avoid them, the only system apps I really back up and restore are the SMS one and the Contacts one (this is awesome if you are like me and have a bunch of contacts that you have to join)...

I have a loaded nextheme several times and i used titanium backup each time. Every time i loaded any save system settings or text messages it would crash. Eventually i had to completely download everything again and start from scratch. I hate saying this but i tanium backup completely failed me except using it as a list of previously downloaded apps. I hope you have better luck than me.

Have you tried the verify back up option under the batch options? It sounds like your getting bad back ups. This has happened to me, here is what I did to fix it (ymmv):

1: Go to batch options and select Remove all back ups.
2: Hit the box on the first page that says Fix Problems (this will install the latest version of BusyBox)
3: Go into batch options and select Back up all apps with data
4: Go into batch options and select Verify Backups (if this fixed it then you should get 0 errors)...

I have 179 applications. I used titanium back to perform a validation on all my backups. I had 79 errors. I guess i should use your suggestion and see what happens. I appreciate your advice.

TiBackup worked for the TXT and call log and browser bookmarks!

I use a great app called SMS Backup and Restore. It can run automatically every evening at a certain time, or manually.

It's also free.

I used Wave Secure with their automatic backup feature and restored my messages when I changed to the NexBeast ROM.

Worked like a champ. So I have a back up on my text messages, contacts and protection from loss or theft.

Not too shabby...
