I'm seeing a lot of people considering flashing the 2.2 SBF to receive the OTA upgrade.

This page still appears to have good download links, along with directions how to flash: Droid X 2.2 Full SBF leaked - Download now

Here's the latest Motorola drivers: http://www.motorola.com/consumers/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=bda09ec8009a0210VgnVCM1000008806b00aRCRD

There is a RDS Lite 4.9, but the 4.8 should still work fine for your X.

You CANNOT flash to 2.2 if you've already flashed the 2.2.1 leaked version. This will brick your phone.

However, if all you did was remove bloatware, or deodex and install a theme, the 2.2 sbf is still an option.

Ideally you can just check your bootloader version.

  • turn your phone off,
  • turn it back on while holding the volume down and camera button
  • note the bootloader version
Version 30.0.4 means you've already have the updated bootloader and you will probably brick your phone if you sbf with 2.2.
