This has happened twice in the past week: When sliding to a different scene from the home screen, the display will automatically slide all the way to the screen on the left or right, without me touching anything!

Pushing the home button does not work, it still slides to the far screen on it's own. The only way to stop it is to shut down the phone and restart. Does this happen to anyone else?

I wonder if it's a droid OS malfunction.

Try cleaning the optical joy stick.

That doesn't mean it isn't dirty and causing your malfunction. Try it and see if that helps.

What CTC said. It can still get dirty. It's what causes the phantom swiping.

thanks, I'll try that. Not sure why the shut down and restart solved the problem though if it a dirty optical button was the culprit.
