i did a quick search but i couldnt find any answers, so i was wondering if there Is anyway of stopping the screen from rotating both ways?

I only want it to rotate one way, like it used to on 2.1

Wasn't it a feature for 2.2 that it rotated both ways?

Yeh I think Skajme is asking if there's a way of making it behave like it did before 2.2 - e.g only 1x way :)

Rotation drives me mad so I only switch it on when required via a widget, otherwise it kicks in around 80% of the time I don't want it too.

    Definately worse in 2.2

Not with any built-in setting, it's either turned on or off via Menu, Settings, Display. There may be an app to control it or use a different launcher program that may do it. I like the way it rotates and it doesn't get in the way for me.

It is definitely more sensitive with 2.2, but it rotates both ways so left and right handed people can use the phone comfortably.

The only setting I can think of is the browser, which you can set.

It's ok, you'll get used to it. I remember the first time I bought an iPhone and I didn't like it turning at first, but that soon changed.

You're welcome. Actually I don't use this app because as a normal ie left-handed person I like the new bi-directional rotation, and I hadn't even noticed it was coming in 2.2.

I wish there was an easier way to turn off rotation. I like having rotation on all the time but I work a lot with pdf survey files that I keep on my SD card to be able to forward to ppl. Depending on how the plat is saved I have to rotate the phone until i can view the plat correctly. My phone is 2.1 so I am able to do that since rotation doesn't occur to the left.

going to check out the app on appbrain
