SD Card

Hi, I am new here and have searched for this problem, but perhaps I did not use the correct search terms.

I have a new tablet, Cobalt 10", and it comes rooted.

I have played with it for a while and am very pleased with it, except.....

I installed a formatted 16GB SD card and when looked at it using file manager it showed all sorts of files on it. I removed it and using my file manager again, I looked and the SD cards is still showing up !!

I have rebooted and rebooted it, to no avail. I have considered deleting the SDCard folder, but do not want to delete all those files unless I am sure it will do no harm but I don't know what else to do.

What to do ??

Deleting them will do nothing resistance is futile muahahaha

Really though lol.. the system forces those files onto their.. they dont take much space so dont mind em too much.. i think their for personal settings and stuff but im not entirely sure..

Still, I find it puzzling that the SD shows in file manager but it is on my window sill.

Well, I don't know your tablet, but some tablets call the second sector of internal storage "sd", and the second card "exsd", so the files may be on your tablet in a sector called sd

So, if I move an app to SD, just where would it go ? To the real sd card or to the sector in the internal memory ?

Well, I am starting to understand this SD business a little better. BUT !

I installed the SD card again, taking it off my widow sill, inserting it into the tablet and STILL I cannot find it using the file manager.

Do you have a folder within the /sdcars folder with a name like ext-sd (or something with ext in it - iirc different manufacturers do this slightly differently). If so, chances are that's your sd card.

No luck. There is nothing even remotely similar to that.

I know the tablet recognized the card because the "mounted" notification comes up when I insert the card.

I found it !! I visited another Android forum and got a nice hint.

It is under mnt folder,

/mnt/extsd

The internal is duplicated there, as well : /mnt/sdcard
