Right now I have my 1gb sd card partitioned and apps2sd is working great. However, I have a 4gb sdcard on its way and I had a few questions:

Are all the 3rd party apps stored on ext2 partition? If so, can I just set 1gb for FAT32 and the remaining 3gb for ext2??

Are the system apps (browser, googletalk etc) stored on the FAT32 partition?

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

Is there any sort of limit or best practices to what storage limit to set each partition. Can I just take the 4GB and split it in half, one partition being for apps and the other being for icons/wallpapers/docs etc?? I have been told that I shouldn't set the FAT32 partition to over 1gb, is that true?

    Thanks again!

I think the general consensus is that no more than 1GB would normally be needed by anyone .. that is a lot of apps if you say an avg app is say 500MB ... that would be like 2000 apps ... I have about 300 and that is a large number to wade through when you are trying to find something .....

Lag increase in things like the app tray, Apps Installers, App Manager as the number of apps on the phone increase ....

So The FAT32 partition is where I would put pics/music/video etc? The Ext2 partition is where the apps go, so I could do Fat32: 3g and ext2: 1gb.

Yes the OS will use the ext2 partition for apps and cache ...

The Fat32 is for your files, pic, videos and some apps will store information and settings there as well ...
