Greetings, after having heavily used the the phone for a week here are my Sense UI/HTC apps pet peeves on the Eris (probably not present in Moto Droid - if someone would confirm it would be great):

    - time stamp missing if it's not today (e.g., SMS from yesterday or before don't show what *time* they were received or sent, same for info on when last mail was last sync yesterday ....). The system keeps this info, why not display it? This is useful for me.

    - No weekly calendar view - what were they thinking?? (The day view looks so cool - but not useful to me. However, I can just imagine what a nice job they would have done for a weekly view.

This is more a wish list item, not a gripe :)

    - It would be nice to have the screen blank time separately from the phone lock feature

I'll agree with you there - frankly, the SMS (long press) "View message details" would be a good place to put this info (the info provided is completely lame at the moment.) I've picked up the phone a few minutes after midnight, and recent texts say "Yesterday". Crap - was that five minutes ago, or five hours?

I poked around on HTC's site, but couldn't find a "feature request" or "suggestion box" - does anyone have a link for a making an enhancement/feature request with HTC?

Or simply in the header, as they do with today's messages - but I guess I'd even settle for it in "message details".

That's exactly how I became aware of this shortcoming too.

Even my previous "dumb" phone LG VX 8300 shows this info. This is simply a (very stupid) design decision by HTC which makes no sense at all.

Yes, if anyone has a 'suggestion box' link for HTC it would be great.

Download handcent sms because it time stamps all of them.

I went and looked at their website, and then went and looked at their feedback in Market - looks like there are lots of people complaining about the Xmas update release (lags, lost messages, duplicate sends, Eris awake time issues, etc).

I think I'll grit my teeth and wait a little bit.

Any long-term Handcent users experiencing the same problems as a result of the Xmas update?
