I recently found myself fumbling with my incredible as I was driving, trying to turn on my local and network settings. I had turned them off to save my battery power. My question is, does anyone know how to set specific settings to a particular "profile", do the "scenes" save power settings also?

I don't know of anything that comes default/pre-loaded in regards to what your looking for - but I did come across many different apps on the marketplace that can do it. Off the top of my head, I use two apps from SmartDyne, one called EasySwitch, the other called EasyProfiles. The first is a widget that allows controls of wifi/BT/radio/etc... the second is pretty much what you're looking for. I haven't really used it yet, but basically you can set location profiles (so it'll change to certain settings based on your location) and you can set Time profiles... so if you forget to turn off the ringer at night it'll just do it for you.

You don't have to use the rules, of course - you can design as many custom mixtures of settings as you want. *shrug*

Unless you're looking for something more than brightness/volume/wifi/network related controls... there are tons of things out there on the marketplace though.

Oddly enough, I've been using an app called Setting Profiles to do what you're wanting.

Setting Profiles Full - Android app on AppBrain

Takes a little tinkering, but once setup it's pretty impressive. I have 5 profiles right now that do everything from powering WiFi/BT/Airplaine Mode on and off as well as adjusting different volumes. I'm sure there's other options as well, and a free version of this one, so check some out.

Actually shortly after posting that post i searched on the phone and found 2 widgets that solved my issues. 1st is the power setting widget, and second is a set of on/off switches. Both of these together do exactly what I was hoping for. However, I am finding them to be a bit laggy.

I have a question, as I am a blackberry user that has recently started using the Incredible. I am used to personalizing my profiles to my needs. For example, at night, i would like just the ringer and sms notifications to be audible, while having email silent. After trying out different applications, I've noticed that the majority of them bulk "notifications" together, so I can't find a way to separate "email" notifications from "sms/mms" notifications.

    Is this possible??

It seems that the incredible doesn't actually have different selectable "profiles" rather that you can turn options on or off with their widgets or just by selecting them through the menu. I am also new to the Incredible but I found that you can set different volumes for the ringer and for the notifications. go to menu>settings>sound and display>ringer volume, then uncheck "use incoming call volume for notifications".

To silence email notifications, simply click on your gmail or mail icon>settings>uncheck "email notifications".

Hope that helps. Anyone else have a tip??

I agree that there's a few things missing that I would like, but luckily most of those are relatively simple fixes. Install AudioManager Pro, create profiles, then create shortcuts. Solved!

So I got REALLY excited about trying this app, thinking it was going to solve my finnicky issue....it doesn't. You're still not able to separate "sms" notifications from "email" notifications. :(

I can't believe that ALL these profile and sound apps, and NONE of them can do this!! But, i do have to say, i like the app anyway :D..But I couldn't figure out how to add a "shortcut" to profiles. I see how to add the widget for the app but not profiles. Help??

I had this set up exactly the way I wanted it, then I hard reset and didn't have a backup of my settings (I know it does that now.)

I read the FAQ: Howto Setting Profiles - what I need to do is make it so that when one profile is activated, all others are inactivated.

Scenario: I have wifi on at home only, when I leave, I want "everywhere else" to be activated. I set the rule up with inverse logic so that when I disconnect from my home AP the "everywhere else" profile DOES come on, but, the old "Home" profile is still active too. I set "everywhere else" to highest priority, doesn't matter. I want only one profile active at a time.

This is killing me because I had it set up perfectly before (did it on the first try) and now I can't figure out how to get it set up again...

    Thanks for any help!

Thanks works great, simple app, just what I need for nights when I'm oncall. Easy way to change all the things that make noise or buzz, that I don't to hear at night in one click.
