Help Setting Up Eris with Phone #s etc.

Question. I get my Eris this afternoon. I have numbers stored in my Verizon account on-line and a pre-existing gmail account. Some overlap but not entirely.

I understand that when I enter my gmail account it will import all my contacts. How do I get my Verizon #s imported and will there be duplication?

Any tips on cleaning up my data before I dive in this afternoon?

Any other "wish I had done before" advice or general set up tips?

I answered my own question about phone contacts (I imported from Verizon to Google Contacts). I'd still appreciate any tips or "wish I knew then" comments if you have them.
