Setup incoming email only?

Is there a way to set up just an incoming email account? I don't see any way to stop after setting up either POP or IMAP.

Im not sure what you are trying to accomplish, you can set up an email but not use it for outgoing and set a different account for outgoing emails as default. you will never use the nondefault email for outgoing messages unless you specifically choose it.

New Galaxy S II, when I enter the email app it wants me to set it up. I enter my POP3 info, and the after verifying it wants me to set up SMTP. I only want to read the email. After I set up one account both send/receive can I setup additional accounts read-only?

No, you have to setup everything as far as I know. But it won't matter if you won't use the particular email for sending anything anyway. I have three email accounts on my phone and while the other two does receive emails, all my outgoing mails are sent through my gmail account because I have set thay as default for that action. Even if the other maila have outgoing set up out doesnt mean that any outgoing message will ever go through them.

Thanks for the follow-up! It's unfortunate that it insists on verifying the server info immediately before allowing you to continue. So you are forced / required to connect to a working server in order to proceed.
