Shapewriter...ROCKS!

I just have to say shapewriter is a pretty cool app. I am glad we didn't have to wait fro swype to come out, this is out in the android market now, take a look at it!

Swype is ok i like it but i kinda will stick with my default keyboard until they release the final version

really wish there was an option to go from swype when the phone is "upright" to reagular keyboard when sideways... that would be awesome cause, at least with swype, typing doesnt keep up with your fingers...

I like swype and sometimes i can be in a roll and yeah i make some mistakes but what i am waiting for is that after i swype and finish my sentence i can double click the word to correct it and the beta does not allow it. But its better then shapewriter

I downloaded this but can't for the life of me get it to run. I went to locale/text and clicked the box, but still isn't working.

If you've installed it just click on a text box and hold, it'll open the Input options and select Swype. You can do the same thing to change back to the original.

Oh, and definately follow the tutorial under the input options.

Hey, I was told that link wasnt allowed here!? Either way, swype blows shapewriter away in alot of ways.

ya that!! I was getting force closes till I did this. Went all day and didnt get one

Try installing apps installer from the market, works for me.

Was able to download and install all from the phone.

Make sure it downloaded as .apk not .zip,
Also make sure that "allow unknown sources" is checked in menu- settings- applications- development

On top of the suggestions above, you might want to try deleting the one you downloading and and re-downloading the file. Sometimes I get that message and when I re-download it it'll work.

I like shapewriter better than swype... I don't know why, I just do!?

Yeah, I don't know why but I seem to do better with Shapewriter. I'm going to give Swipe another chance today, though. We'll see if it's any better for me.


What are some things you find Swype does better than Shapewriter? I'm curious as to maybe I'm missing something.

I like that ShapeWriter shows word options on every input. I hate Swype's pop up screen. I like ShapeWriter's auto cap. I like swype's skin and customizations.

Yeah, I do like Shapewriter's word options as well. Just seems to be a bit easier for that. I also like that you can still type normally with ShapeWriter. When I try it with Swype it starts adding spaces.
