I live in an area where I have had no Sprint signal for my Sprint Photon for several years. I can get a very weak Verizon signal which is insufficient to make or maintain calls. For these reasons, I have a Sprint Airave (1x) to provide a Sprint signal. Last night, storms took out my internet which, of course, shut down the Airave signal. I set my Photon to EVDO rev A only and suddenly I have a strong 3g Sprint signal. My wife has an HTC evo shift and my daughter has an HTC evo 3D. Neither of their phones can get this Sprint signal when I set them to EVDO rev A -- they get no signal at all. How is this possible? I know that Motorola makes the best antennas, but this is more that just an antenna. How is it that my phone passed up a strong Sprint signal to roam on a marginal Verizon signal or connect to a 1x Airave signal? My Photon has been connected to this signal for 7 hours now and neither my wife's nor my daughter's HTC phones can see this signal at all. Any ideas about this anyone?
