Help skype included w/froyo and wont uninstall?

Skype seems to be preloaded with froyo and it wont let me uninstall it! It shows it running in the background constantly and when I try to kill it it just starts back up again and wont let me uninstall...frustrating!

if you are rooted you or have s-off you can remove it

Skype is part of the bloatware package that was installed when you updated to Froyo 2.2. It can not be uninstalled w/o root. Also, don't keep force closing it b/c, as you have already noticed, it will just start back up again in a matter of seconds. From what I have seen it does not use much of the battery to let it run in the background and it certainly uses a lot less battery than it takes for your phone to close the program and re open it immediately.

Additional bloatware that can not be uninstalled w/o root is VZ Navigator and CityID among others.

I cant wait until someone roots froyo so i dont have to go back to 2.1 and do it with s-off. then i can get rid of all those BS apps.

Or just get root access and someone has done it for you
