This person has been texting me none stop for 3 days :( I've even involved the police who didn't even bother since its a cricket wireless # they can't trace. This person seems obsessed and at times honestly scares me. Theyve sent over a hundred texts in less than an hour. Pls I've tried googling but come up with year old posts that lead to nothing. Market searches lead to only bad reviews.

Check out Callfilter. I've used only the free version to block unwanted phone calls and it works great. Only the Pro version blocks sms. I havent used the pro version so I cant say how well it blocks sms.

ChompSms has a blacklist function, not sure if its available in the free version or just the paid one, paid one is dirt cheap anyway so worth a try?

    No Spam Sms

    by SunLikeStar

    and also
    SMS Filter

    by Tsvetan Nachev

both work great i have been using for about 6 months no spam i like it better more opions and it works from your address book and if you want to add someone not in address book there is also a white list to add just long prees the text

I choose SMS Filter over Blacklist. Because SMS Filter has only 1 feature & it's stupid easy to use. Now I just have to wait till 3-4am to see if it blocks the insane weirdo texting me.

If your phone is rooted, nothing beats Root Call Blocker Pro for blocking calls, SMS and MMS. Your choice of how to deal with the blocks ...

For $6.99 not from me. I'm an Android owner not an iphone owner. :)
Only app I've seen worth that much is Titanium Backup Pro.

That's only because you haven't used it ... none of the others are even contenders in terms of functionality. There's a free trial version before one makes uninformed judgements.

Hi guys. Im one of the developers of Root Call Blocker. It really is in a league of its own, together with our Call Master. That is why we are able to charge $6.99. But we have sales all the time!

Anyway, we are currently working on RCB 2, which will have:

    New UI
    New telephony daemon
    Jelly Bean notification integration
Better list system without operating modes
Full MMS blocking like in Call Master
    Better exceptions
    Quicker number adding
    Conversation view in logs
    New secure entry method

If you want to participate in the closed beta, which starts mid-March, you need to send an email with the title "RCB CB". You must provide your order number (from Google Wallet) and some information about your device and OS. Mail to support@fahrbot.co.uk

Also, we are about to launch the open beta of Project Delta, an app using the new RCB 2 root daemon for private communications. It will be fully integrated with RCB 2 as well. I will open a thread in the beta forum towards the end of the week.

Why bother asking if you won't listen to the solution?

I use MetroPCS blocker to block calls and sms. I first tried it when it was new, and it was ATROCIOUS! Since then the bugs and kinks have been ironed out, and it works like a charm.

FWIW, of all the market apps I had tried, not one of them ever worked for me.

Which one also include Custom Auto Reply Message? Developers are forgetting that important feature.

You wish to automatically send messages to a number/person you've blocked? Perhaps developers didn't think that was an important feature. It's not something I've ever wanted to do. If it's something you really need, you could probably suggest it to them.

There is only one app that has it but for Paid version at too high $12 for an Android app. Searching for all the other apps, they're crap and developers ain't serious to compete.

OP, if you're still watching this thread, have you looked into having your carrier block the offending number? I'm betting that would work better than an app, and likely cost less.
