SMS limitGeneral

I know, I know SMS stands for Short Message Service, and is normally limited to 160 characters. But, until just recently, this didn't really apply to me on my Droid Inc.

Is there any way to get my long text message capability back???

I could send an MMS message, in which the limit is 1000 characters, but I'd have to go outside of Chomp SMS to do that, and I really don't want to do that, lol.

When I text, I can type as much as I want (as far as I know..) but if I go over 160 characters the recipient will receive it in two text messages. This has always been the case for me on the Incredible.

I'm not sure if I answered your question, because I'm not sure I exactly follow what you are trying to say.. :)

Is your phone not allowing you to go over 160 characters? Also, I use the regular stock text messaging app, not Chomp or Handcent (Don't want my phone to look like the IPhone!)

Chomp doesn't support MMS messages? I've never used Chomp myself, but I find that pretty hard to believe.

ChompSMS supports MMS, but is primarily an SMS program, and doesn't just up and go to MMS.

I can type over 160 characters, but it now breaks it down to 160 character texts. I'd much rather have the original longer text message preserved if at all possible, the way it was a few days ago.

I use handcent and if I go over 480 characters (3 texts) it will auto convert to MMS

Awesome. I didn't know that. I might have to go back to Handcent then.
