SMS Notification x 2

Hey, I'm using ChompSMS instead of the standard SMS app, and I've disabled received texts notifications in the standard app, yet I still get two notifications when I get a text. Just to clarify, I disabled the original notification by going into the 'Messages' app > Menu > Settings > untick 'Received notification'

But I still keep getting two notifications...any ideas?

I don't know how to do it on the DHD, but when I did it on other phones you have to physically stop the phone receiving SMS's. I can't guide you towards the settings for this, but I'm sure someone will.

I never got the idea of people using 3rd party text message apps tho...

Do you mean the setting won't activate until the phone stops receiving SMSs? Why? I'll try restarting it...

I was sure there's anothing setting that needs to be changed, but I could be wrong.

You may well be right, but I haven't come across it! I'm considering just going back to the normal SMS app.

I unticked 'Recieve notification' like you did, and it worked well for me.
(I use Handcent SMS)

Okay I was being a bit ******ed... I installed a sms notification app before installing chomp and I forgot about it!

My bad.
