SMS Tone ChangingSupport

    Probably an easy question to answer but how in the heck do I change my SMS tones on the Captivate. I have looked in the places I thought it should be but cannot figure it out.

    When you have messages open, click the menu button, the far left one, then goto settings and you can change the notification tone for text to be different then what the phone default is.

    Open Messaging and hit your Manu softkey. Go to Settings and you can change the Notification tone there.

    Edit: damn, beat me to it by a few seconds

    my issue i turn up vol for sms tone notification all the way but for some reason something is lowering the vol alot.

    yes, i use Ringdroid for all my ringtones/notifications editing

    i dont even have this phone yet and im excited about that feature. I don't even gotta jailbreak it either...HAHA!!!!!

    I was also excited because it didn't have to be "jailbroke", but I did it anyway... I think once a 'Jailbreaker, always a jailbreaker". The only difference now is its legal!! Mine is rooted but I haven't installed any roms, yet.

    i cant seem to add any of my mp3 ringtones to be in the list of notification types for sms or google talk. all i see are the default ringtones....?

    if you are trying to save the mp3 for use as a "notification" you must select "notification" when you save the mp3 (i was using ringdroid)
