Snapchat is notorious for taking low quality photos, and the reason it's like that is because the app simply takes a screenshot of your viewfinder.
One person on Reddit claims this is no longer the case in the latest Snapchat Beta, and now it's taking high resolution photos (although others say they aren't seeing it).
