so i got email conformation today from vzw! i placed my order on july 21. and it shipped today! i was orginally told it would ship on aug 3. btw. this is my replacement device......yay!

I think by mid august both the dinc and the x will no longer be on backorder. The dates haven't change for a while so hopefully its a good thing.

I think that most people are having their orders shipped prior to the August 3rd date. This more or less, I think, due to the capacity each distribution point has, they can only fill so many orders per day, plus they would be shipping out everything from accessories to phones other than the X. If there were was truely a backorder on X's then I would expect longer delays.

idk. i called cs and they transfered me to tech support. thetech support transfered gave me a online order place. called them and they placed my order? so idk. lol

The shipping dates are will ship by dates and not actual dates. They are being conservative to not disappoint people. You will more than likely get it sooner than aug 3.

It's definitely worth the wait.

To those of you who are getting shipping notices earlier than the promised ship by date, did you order on-line?

I ordered mine at a corporate store and they told me I won't get a shipping notification; it will just show up one day. Not sure whether that is true.
