I ordered my HTC Incredible shortly after launch and had received it in the orginal packaging. I soon noticed after using it for less than a month that the ear piece on the phone was pretty terrible and seemed to have gotten worse. I set up a replacement within my 30 day period and had Verizon send me a new one. It took a month to get me a replacement because of the backorder.

The phone came in the new Droid Incredible packaging. When I first started using it I noticed the power button clicked weird and that the touch screen itself had something wrong with it. The haptic feedback on the keyboard and other touch buttons sometimes (it happens a lot to varying degrees) seems to have a weird response sometimes when using it. Instead of making that vibrating noise when hitting the keys sometimes a weird pop happens like something is wrong with the keyboard. It didn't do this in my previous version. I also noticed that the call quality was a little better but still seems to suck......

I don't know what to do now.

Call Verizon and tell them what the problems are with the replacement.

only thing to do really is fru it out again (warranty replacement)... you could try going to a corporate store. you may get lucky and find one that has a replacement inc. in stock

Not sure about the haptic feedback, but is it a sound you are hearing from your phone? There is a setting for audible tones when touching the keyboard...maybe thats the noise you are hearing??

What I miss about my Omnia was the ability to calibrate the touchscreen

You can calibrate your touch screen. I did it last night, it's somewhere in the settings. It has you type a sentence using the touch screens keyboard.

The noise and feeling is from an issue with the vibration response of pressing keys. It seems something is wrong with the screen itself to be causing these issues.

Coming from an omnia i feel like that isnt the same. On the Omnia, it worked with a stylus so when you calibrated it it factored in the angle of the stylus when tapping the corners for better a better response.

on the DINC it makes me think its just calibrating the keyboard...

Question for the OP. I actually just got a replacement due to water damage, aka rain, through Asurion. It's a brand new phone because they basically have no refurbs in stock as what I was told. My question is, did you receive a 2gb sandisk in your phone when you opened the box?

They are supposed to be pre-installed with the new SKU/Packaging. Question for you, how does your screen look? Better, worse, the same....

Ah I wasn't aware of the SD card addition.

This is rediculous.... the screen on my old phone which is the one that got wet btw....is perfect no pink or anything...new one clearly evident pink coloring.

    Alright, now what?

Edit: For the record tho, I would NEVER have noticed if I didn't already have a perfectly fine Incredible sitting right next to the pink one. Have people returned there's for this issue? Seeing as it came from the insurance company would I have to go through them?

I received a replacement, but how do you know whether it was refurbished or not?

From what I know, the packaging as well as whether it comes with a micro-sd already inserted apparently.

Yeah it wasn't inside the phone itself. I was kind of confused at first where it was or if they even sent one with it since I had the previous one.

    Dial ##778 SEND/View Mode/Display

Look at refurbishment status and refurbishment date. If you phone came in a brown box with no battery or back cover it is refurbished.

GrandMaster you have any ideas on the whole pink screen? Worth calling complaining about or just something to deal with as it's not a huge deal?

I have read that you don't notice it unless it is side by side with another Incredible. If that is true I really wouldn't worry about it....

I honestly didn't until it was side by side. So in that aspect I won't mind, hopefully this phone has no other issues.

I put in a order for my replacement on saturday and the rep told me that there are not any refurbished incredibles yet because the phone is too new. He said that they are "certified like new phones" and they are just as good as a brand new one. I'm not saying this isn't bullshit, that's just what I was told.

But I thought a refurbished phone was a certified like new device. They are one and the same are they not? They are not going to send you somebodys used phone with all their personal info on it....

It says "not available" so I'm assuming it was brand new :). It also came in the original box, not a brown box.

OP, what insurance do you have? I have asurion and I never got a 2gb sd card with mine..I had to buy it myself. However I was very surprised to have my phone the very next day considering all the back order issues.

Apparently nobody has ever owned a certified like new, I guess there was just something wrong from the start. A refurb is one that somebody else owned, broke, returned it, then htc fixed it.

just got my third replacement. took them three times but this ones perfect, no pink hue, charges with every charger and no other defects. no more having to "accidentally" break my phone in some way to get them to replace it. GG.

i did this and it says "<not available>" under refurbishment status and refurbishment date. manufacturers date says 4/11/2010. does that mean i got a new phone when they sent me this as a refurb?

I have been doing some searching and reading and from what I can find a CLNR is just the new terminology they are using for refurbs,

    Certified Like-New Replacement

If you have information that says otherwise I would very much like to read it so we as a community understand the difference between the two.

I have not seen one yet but I would assume if it was refurbished that information would be present. I purchased mine new shortly after launch and it says the same as yours. :)
