LOL. Saw that and laughed out loud!!
Ah well i guess the iPhone 4 isnt that super strong afterall.
Isn't it glass on the back too? Seems like a pretty crummy design to me.
lol fail apple
Why are the buttons and speakers missing?
Because it does'nt have the internals in its just the outer casing.
i wonder if it was weighted to be the same as a full model...if not...thats just lol x 1000
That was easy to break.
i guess that is why apple came out with the "bumpers" lol
I saw a review bashing the build quality of the Evo in favor of the iPhone 4. I guess now it's our turn to actually turn around and start praising the mostly soft touch plastic body of or device. We know for sure it can take a drop from that height fully loaded with internals and battery.
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot... I think the mostly metal and glass construction of this new addition to the iScreenSmash collection proves that having a fancy design isn't everything...
expensive accessories which are required to use ur product in the real world...na doesnt sound like apple at all
omg Apple innovation you dont even need an app to pretend your screen is cracked!! sign me up!!
Yeah glass phone... no thanks.
Now introducing the iHammer! Fully made of glass!
Tapatalk. Samsung Moment. Yep.
Lol, a phone made out of glass. Something just seems off about that concept doesn't it? Reminds me of pawn stars when the guy had a glass sword.
from an article i read it was dropped 3 times from 3.5 ft and its was an empty phone so its not a fully viable test
besides, just buy a case
I read that article. It's basically just a hollow shell, there were no components in it. I don't think that test replicates a real world situation at all. Say what you want about Apple but the iPhones I had were built very well.
Yeah but they weren't made of glass lol...
Tapatalk. Samsung Moment. Yep.
Exactly, a hollow glass shell with nothing inside and assuming it's a bit lighter also since its internal components are there. If that breaks easily, then we all can assume that a regular iPhone 4 would break on the first or second drop.
Totally agree.... in the real world, that glass box weighs about three times as much as the outer shell does in fantasy land. Being filled with electronics won't save a real one from bustin' loose... I feel like bustin' loose...
People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
Definately not their iPhones atleast...
What were they thinking?
phone manufacturers don't care how the phones behave as empty shells, they test them with the internals
i'd be inclined to think the internals added quite a bit of support and made the thing harder to break
the weight shouldn't matter that much - it's not like it's gonna fall any faster
If this is a real issue then I bet complaints will pop up pretty soon after it is released (although most people baby the phone for a good while). I owned an iPhone 3G and the built quality was very high. I dropped that thing numerous times from various heights and it never broke (I had a hard case on it and not a rubber one) or cracked.
