Help so slow

Is there a way to speed up this phone, it is ridiculously slow. everything lags, you can't play games and apps are freezing up. Its been like this since i got it. I took it back into sprint, they said it was because of the processor. Anybody having same problems

Interesting, curious, are you running a task killer? I was and had the same issues, took it off and now it runs great.

Holidai, if you don't like the phone I suggest you install the FroyoRC2 ROM to speed up your phone... And yes don't use taskillers, its like your phone on steroids.

Yeah. I'd suggest following TheAndroid's guide. But then reflashing this: Froyo port ROM and Hotspot remover [UPDATED 2/10/11] It's a lot more complete, including Vampirefo's kernal, Froyo, de-odex, full battery popup remover, the Camera flash fix and JIT all in one download. Since you'll already have ext4 from TheAndroid, no need to install that. It also gets rid of the bloatware like the Sprint stock apps.

This brought me from 3-4 mflops stock to 9.83 mflops

So DON'T use task killers??? Everyone I talked to that has an Android has told me to install one, which I have.

And to be honest, I'm a new user, so this whole "Rooting/Flashing/vampire kernals" stuff is like 'chinese' to me. I'm fairly good on a PC installing crap but I don't want to screw anything up and "brick" my phone. At least with a PC and can go to an old restore point and fix my goof...

I would stick away from flashing it, I don't want a brick. As for a Task Killer, I do not recommend it. My phone is so much faster. battery life is a little less. But I would rather have the speed gain.

So the task killer slow's your phone down?? I was under the impression it would speed it up by turning off all the apps that are currently running that your not using.
I'm confused haha

Interestingly enoughm with the Transform, task killers do slow the phone down.

You basically can't brick your phone. All you gotta do is use Software Updater or a restore option on your (rooted) phone, and you're ok no matter what you do. I don't know how you could possibly brick your phone, besides not deleting the item in the Software Updater folder...

Everyone called me nuts when I said I'm never going to download a task killer. I use Systempanel which is a task killer but instead of my hone saying 'What apps ya wanna kill bro?' I see every last thing thats going on with my phone. If I have leg, I go into the app and I can actually see everything thats going on.
