1. Just flashed Kanaida Homeles Kernel v1.3over MTM's BrokenOut 1.1 Rom and this is so far(few hours) the fastest responsiveness combo i've seen-- it's so impressive that I'm starting this thread mostly for that reason-- i have hundreds of apps and the phone responds faster than when brand new. (FYI running 360 Launcher 3.2 mostly, the only other one installed is ADW.) Logic would seemingly contradict this result, even that they would coexist with each other...but there you go. I stumbled upon this by accident. I've been running MTM's BrokenOut that comes included w/ Blitzkrieg Kernel . I have absolutely no complaints with it; just that i heavily use phone for work, it tends to overheat...so drawn to the positive results posted re Homeless. Like many, i couldn't get the most sensible combo: Rom #2 and it to play nice together-- would just hang interminably at boot, then force close. And no snub of PG creations either, been running them a long time on on ZVB & C prior. But now, for work purposes i need the smartphone to act more like a dumbphone-- screen touch to respond as fast as button touch, lower temperature, longer battery life. In reality a smartphone is not meant to be used in a high volume / dispatch work environment. 2. Speaking of recovery, say: you cavalierly didn't backup just before flashing(9 times out of 10 not needed eventually), or if you're like me and use the phone for work, don't want to risk losing even one app, text, contact, call history(even though redundant auto backups to cloud, external, etc. constantly run)... there's little to lose by just overflashing previous rom first...you always have option to restore most recent backup. The downside is little glitches can pop up at times w/ things like 4g, busybox, superuser, root, etc...may have to reapply/reinstall all these...plus...opening Titanium Backup and going into Restore "w/o actually running it" -- as it helps at times fix things-- it immediately detects and fixes errors with root, which in turn can make disappear the other recently-developing errors with lte data & superuser. But even then, the errors could be due to other things-- SuperUser can't just be set to auto grant permission along with disabling notifications, as then it will still deny a lot of processes(even ones it previously allowed prior to rom update or restore), a BusyBox update(if you've got it set to autoupdate, subsequent upgrades change location and/or alter system files), i've been experimenting with XDA's AutoData , which could be guilty party, although I recommend you give it a look over. In conclusion-- phone temp is so, so much cooler now(before it would be very hot to the touch, esp, when charging, now it hardly ever begins to even get warm; a huge improvement...add to this the unexpected bonus of such fast responsiveness. The latter could be due to wiping caches during flashing process...but i've added a half dozen new apps immediately after, and it's running like a champ. 3.
