something wrong with my 3.5mm headphone jackSupport

    Hey im wondering if this is just mine or what. i plug my headphones in and start listening to music or watching a movie on my phone then i try to use the 5.1 channel and it says "5.1 channel sound effect works in earphone mode only" i have my headphones pushed alll the way in and i can hear the music or video thru the headset but it wont let me go into 5.1 channel any help or ideas on what this problem is will be very much appreciated.

    are you 100 percent certain you have pushed your headphones down ALL the way? Even when you think its down all the way its not, you can push it even further in most cases, put a little more force.

    If that doesn't work, ummm I dunno.

    ive pushed it down hard enough im not trying to break my phone here lols i dont think that you should have to push it down that hard considering were in 2010 and this is a smart phone. but ill try pushing down a lil harder see what that does if it fixes the problem if not ill try using a different headset see if that helps.

    actually there is a thread about pushing it down harder, many of us, including myself, were having problems with audio cutting in and out, I had already pushed down really hard, but guess what, if you push even harder it goes down even 1 more notch! After you break it in, subsequent times go in easier.

    if it is down all the way, it should be completely flush, you won't see any of the metal

    na man i tried my fingers are hurting due to me trying to push the headphones down (ipod headphones) n i tried with a different set of headphones and still getting the same message idk what it is because it was working a couple days ago. ill let you know if i solve the problem.

    I say you pour some water in the jack to wash it out.
