I did not create or modify any of these apps. Spare Parts This was taken out of Bugless Beast by Peter Alfonso it has more options than the one in the Market and no ads. Sound Recorder This is the sound recorder app that is built into Android. Pete has modified it to show up in the app tray. How to Use: After you record you can play it to hear it and either select use or discard. If you select use it will save to the root of your SD card. Just rename the file extension to .mp4 and you will be able to listen to it. I guess you can't go back and hear it through the app. Superuser.apk (2.3.5) The one in the Droid2Root is an old version. ChainsDD updated it and This is how you install the new version from the market. (if downloading in market is unsuccessful) How to Install All 3 apps. 1. Download SoundRecorder.apk and SpareParts.apk and save them to the root of your SD Card. (don't put in any folders). 2. Install Android Terminal Emulator by Jack Palevich (if you don't already have it) 3. Open Terminal emulator and type this. (the $ and # are not typed. They are the prompts in the command emulator) Code (Text): $ su # mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system # busybox cp /sdcard/SpareParts.apk /system/app/Spareparts.apk # busybox cp /sdcard/SoundRecorder.apk /system/app/SoundRecorder.apk # rm /system/app/Superuser.apk # pm uninstall com.noshufou.android.su # mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system # sync It is strongly recomended that you back up the Original SoundRecorder.apk by moving it to SD Card Code (Text): busybox cp /system/app/SoundRecorder.apk /sdcard/data/SoundRecorder.apk or using Root Explorer to copy and paste it out somewhere else. 4. Open the Android Market and search for Superuser and install from the market. 5. Open app and allow superuser request. and it will ask to update su. Accept it and allow the superuser request. and you're done.
