if you're referring to music or other sounds playing when on the phone, go to the music player you're using and pause it - the default music player does not have a stop and there is not a user's setting I'm aware of to auto stop it.

There might be an app on the market for that - In fact, I think I'll write one;)

Sadly I don't think there is any way to do this at this time.

Pretty sure they just have caps lock on, the forum software automatically makes all letters after the first lowercase if all caps are used.

If I recall correctly, the default messaging app will play a notification sound for you upon receiving a message, if you are in a call. The app Handcent SMS also does this, and it is an option that can be disabled/enabled. Handcent SMS can also give you vibrate notifications on the phone if you so choose.

Go to menu/settings/sound and display/ringer volume/uncheck the box use incoming call volume for notifications. Then you will get the option to turn it down all the way if you like.

So on that area where we can select the incoming notification sound to not be the same as the incoming call sound...does this mean we can either set the incoming notification sound to high or low or off..but we cant just CHANGE its volume setting for DURING A PHONE CALL??? :( Thats really stupid! I want its notification ringtone on high at all times..just not during a call...how can they make such below quality options??? :(
