As stated in the introductions thread (which you guys probably didnt read ;)), I recently switched to Android from iOS and I hate to say it, but I do miss some of my favorite apps. I cant find Android equivalent apps like Tweetbot, Due (a timer) and ToDoMovies (a movie watchlist app) and more. For iOS there are quite a lot of blogs dedicated to apps alone, but for Android I cant find any. I've done some googling and found this tumblr: Android Awesomeness, dedicated to apps.

Do you guys now more of these kind of resources? A lot of the bigger blog seem to be a little more focussed on phones and the OS.

Thanks!

Yeah I figured, but where do I find these good alternatives? Don't tell me I have to do the all the work myself :p

The best place to locate apps are either the Play store, or XDA forums.

Be extremely careful if you get apps anywhere else. Nine times out of ten they are packaged with nasty adware, trojans, or worse. Having said that, arm yourself with knowledge by reading the great links below.

I realize no one mentioned app killers, but since you are new to the Android OS it will help you to learn how it works. This is a very easy to understand post by an app developer that will explain how and why Android does some of the things it does. I promise you will glean a lot from reading all three links. ;)
