I looked but could not find anything relating to this, so sorry if it is a repeat subject.

When I look at apps in the market or appbrain, I read the reviews before getting them. It seems difficult sometimes because spammers run around to so many apps saying "Great, I got the full version at..." and it is the exact same thing at dozens of other products.

Does the market or appbrain ever monitor their sites for spammers?

In the Market app, if a review is spam you can tap the button with an up and down arrow on it (right under their star rating) and mark it as Spam. (Helpful and Unhelpful are also options recently added.)

I always mark those as spam, every single one I see. I would hate to see someone new to android go to one of those sites and come out with a bad experience.

Google should start punishing those users.... though for all we know they might have already started doing it.
