I love this app, but have a recent issue. My batt was losing the normal rate when one day getting off work I had like half my power was drained. The only app I can recall installing is the opera 5 beta. I uninstalled thinking it would solve my issues, but I still get the serious batt drain from time to time. Time for spare parts. It shows that something called UID 10102 is staying awake an abnormal amount of time, even longer than android system that dominates my phone until this UID 10102 deal. Hate to sound like an idiot, but does anyone have a clue what this is? Naturally I thought it to be some user id program, but why would it now cause some terrible batt drain?

    Hopefully someone can help, thanks.

Download either the app CLOSE EVERYTHING (free version). Once installed, open the app and click VIEW PROCESS LIST. Scroll down to the bottom and it will display your process ID's. Look for one with the number 10102 on the left side. On the right side it should give you the name of the application assigned to that UID.

there are other task managers that will show you the UID for each application, I just cannot remember which they are. I don't use any other than CLOSE EVERYTHING mainly because I try not to use task managers.

Appreciate the help, only thing is that the number changes when I open other apps.

The UID shouldn't change. Try using Activity Express task manager.

Here's a post of when I was trying to figure out what one was. It has step-by-step directions of what I did to figure it out. I'd install, it, go to settings and select TOUCH ACTION and then pick "SHOW DETAILS". Then, click each application listed and it'll display the process and user ID numbers. Just find the User ID number that matches the one you saw from Spare Parts.

That did it. Thanks u da man. Activity was the ticket, showing uid by long pressing. Close everything only showed me the process #. Handcents was the culprit, with me leaving the phone probably in an open conversation instead of closing. Hopefully this helps others, as I did a search on the topic and ur thread didn't show up. Once again, thanks.

No problem. Just out of curiosity, what was the app that was killing your battery?
