Call quality is job #1 in a cellphone. Unfortunately - the call quality of my new EVO is noticeably worse than my 4 yr old LG Fusic flip phone. I listened to another EVO at the Sprint store, and it sounded similar to mine Tinny muffled sound, scratchy static at the end of loud(er) utterances. My voicemail quality is especially bad. Sounds like my ear speaker is vibrating against a piece of metal. It sounds like a bad VOIP connection - or more likely SPRINT went for a lower bit rate audio codec in this phone to increase network capacity. If so it was a VERY BAD decision. The reason I have stayed with SPRINT is call quality and connection reliability. Anyone else experiencing similar issues? I would GLADLY trade battery life for a higher audio bit rate to the network.
