I'm going to as long as this really fixed the messaging problem. Is the start up screen new? I don't remember the HTC logo having the light flash across it...

Start up screen looked the same to me, but I'm not sure.

Could you report back to see if using the default messaging app is safe now?

I sure will. Just uninstalled Handcent and got all the settings back for the stock app. I'll update soon...

Up and running. Everything seems ok so far.

I installed it and back to the same 100% awake time!!!!!! 8 1/2 minutes so far...I'll check it again in an hour or so. I'm back to 100% stock...No Handcent.

Looks like my 2 big gripes with the calendar are fixed.

1) the DST bug
2) the recurring entry with deleted occurences.

My awake time has been going down and working just fine. Phones been on for 36 mins, awake time 22 mins (63%). It's been going down ever since it rebooted!

New feature noticed....when on a phone call, there are now two buttons on the screen under the pic...Mute and Speaker phone. This makes it much easier to do than hitting menu then selecting those.

Haha fair enough. Mine has been working fine.

before update (for me): status light notification for text/email would flash for up to 5 seconds before audio notification.

after update: status light plus audio are in sync, yay!

I've had that problem too. I hope it does fix it but I'm not sure. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it's in sync.

This is a big fix for me - pressing the search button in the program list now work!!!

Did the music app always let you take a song and set it as a ringtone? I don't remember being able to do this before but maybe I just missed it previously

Have you let it sit without the screen on at all?
if you're using it 100% of the time, of course it will have 100% awake time

Yeah, definitely letting it sit. Uninstalled Handcent. Had the 100% awake time before the update too.
