    Hi,
I just wanted to check out the stocks account when using the desire for the first time, but now I've got a stocks account in the 'Accounts and Sync' section.. I want to remove it but I can't there is no remove account button only sync now. Anyone knows how to do it?

Can't remove the weather account either but I don't want to do it :)

    cheers

It's built into the rom, you cannot remove it unless you root the phone and flash a custom rom onto the phone.

You can remove the account by clicking on stocks in accounts and sync. That gives you the update options and a remove option at the bottom.

Hmm so if you go settings > accounts & sync then click the stocks icon or name then nothing happens?

when I press stocks the only option I've got at the bottom is 'sync now'. there are two options at the top 'account settings' and 'sync stock info'.

It has a remove option on mine, but I'm rooted with a custom ROM. This option wasn't there when I was on stock O2 UK ROM.

Try Menu>Settings>Accounts & sync>long press on Stocks>untick "Sync stock info"
This turned the stocks syncing off on my Desire
