My wife has been having a very strange problem with her Eris lately. She uses her phone as her alarm and when it goes off in the morning and she picks it up to snooze or dismiss the options simply won't be on the screen, it will be her default home screen. The alarm is still going off though so she touches the Sense clock widget to turn off the alarm manually but as soon as she touches the widget the screen starts to scroll to the left and will continue to do so for a few moments and will eventually stop. She only seems to have this auto-scrolling problem when dealing with her alarm going off. Any suggestions?

only really 3 that come to mind, but they are not very good suggestions.

The first is turning it off & on.

The second is going to the download tab in the market. By default, the most recently installed/updated apps are at the top of the list, if there is nothing that would obviously interact with the alarm, then try removing the newest 3 apps or something & see if that fixes it.

The last one is watching the alarm go off & see what happens. By the time you wake up & look at the app, whatever is messing up, might have left the screen already.

Is this only happening when her phone is plugged in? Generally the "auto scrolling to the left" is a hardware problem related to the trackball and USB port, and can only be remedied by a replacement phone.

Yes we just figured out today that it does only happen while her phone is plugged in. So the only remedy is a replacement?
