So I was playing around with a file manager and logged into my home server through FTP.

I have a few movies saved onto my media card but I was wondering if there is an app that would allow me to login to my home server (through ftp or something) and let me browse my vids and stream them through. In the file manager I tried and it sais that streaming wasnt available and proceeded to download the file. It would play once it was fully transfered.

Any avi streamers out there?

I think VLC Remote might be what you're looking for. It's only in beta and I haven't had a chance to set it up on my PC yet so I don't know for sure.

Yeah , i looked at that a while back, i think you will find orb much easier to set up.
you can access/stream files, photos, movies, tv (if you have tv card)

1) Sign up for an Orb account from your home computer (if you haven't)
2) Sign into your account from your home computer
3) Click Settings in the top right and select 3GP Format (.sdp)
4) Launch browser on Droid. Clear Cache and Cookies
5) Log into your your Orb account from your browser on your Moto Droid
6) IMPORTANT: Select Settings on bottom middle of page
7) IMPORTANT: Select Stream on top right of page
8) IMPORTANT: Select 3GP Format (.sdp). NOT AAC or AMR versions
9) Select Save

about the same as for my omnia

*some pay for apps on market, but this is all free
** have not tested on dinc, though it did work well on my omnia
