so I've found a million questionable sites, that either load me down with spyware, force me to complete stupid surveys, or skeeve me out and cause me to hit the back button at 900mph. anyone got a good clean link to download this program?

All root programs may be flagged as trojans, depending on the scanner used, because the exploit(s) they use to gain root are similar to those used by malware.

I downloaded and scanned the package above with the latest Kaspersky AV and it came up clean. I didn't run it because it won't root my handset.

Many executables will be flagged as trojans, simply because they are programs. It's the nature of the beast.
