System update JOP40D - from TWRP

The last couple updates I have done with the N7, TWRP actually installed them. Breaking root and then TWRP afterwords. I had to pull up a program on the MBP (not sure what it is off the top of my head), re-root then install TWRP again.

I have put off this new system update for quite some time now because of this issue (I am still on JOP40C). So, once more, if I install this update, will it break everything again?

Yep, generally system updates will break root. I'm very surprised TWRP installed them actually.

There's an app on play called Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper, that might help. It takes a backup of the SU binaries pre update, temporary unroots, then reapplies them after the OTA.

Why not just go for a custom ROM though? :)

Yeah, I finally broke down and installed cleanROM :)

I tried two different versions of a Touchwiz based cleanROM port, but ended up getting a com error for the gapps, so I finally just flashed clean rom.

Agreed. Custom ROMS are the way to go. :D

(ignore the sig, it needs updating :p)
