Your story contains factually incorrect info. There has been an app called SelfHelp by an awesomely responsive dev out for a long time that does the same core of minutes and texts. It also offers alerts when you are getting close to an overage. I do like the Tmobile app for the addition of battery and memory info, but let's not kiss their ass too much, they weren't first.

FYI - I often notice other devs videos with SelfHelp as the icon is very recognizable..it's a life preserver.
