Help Tab 2 can't stay connected to the internet

My Samsung galaxy tab 2 has just been collecting dust for a month or 2 and today I went over to it and it to get it a software update. I tried the update multiple times but every time I tried it the WiFi would lose signal for until the update stopped trying the connection. I tried to open up multiple apps that use the Internet and none of them would work. The Rest Of My Family Is having no trouble with connecting and using our homes WiFi and my tablet says it has full bars. How do I fix this problem?
