For the past two weeks, I'm getting complaints from everyone that I speak to on my phone that they can barely understand me. That it sounds very garbled. This is only a recent issue. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do? There has been no damage to the phone.

Strange as it may sound, when people say that switch the side of your head you are holding the phone against and see if it improves... in certain instances the noise cancelling microphones don't work right and changing the orientation helps.

Also, even stranger, a co-worker with long hair had similar issues with her Rezound, but if she had her hair tied back everyone could hear her fine, if it was down and covering the phone, she sounded garbled. She got a Motorola Razr Maxx after two replacement Rezounds and had no more issues. Also probably goes back to the noise cancelling mic placement.

And simply checking that all the microphone openings are clear of debris and bits of plastic from a cover or shifted cover. There is one on the top, left hand side of the phone and one on the bottom.

Just some simple things you can start with.

I have a similar issue. But the only time o get complaints about people not being able to hear me is when I hold my phone on my right shoulder while talking. When that happens I take it off my shoulder & hold it with my hand & people can hear me better. Not sure if it has anything to do with my Otterbox Defender case or not.

Yeah, this is just a general, "I can't understand you; ur phone sounds really garbled" from several people in the past couple of weeks. I can't hear it obviously cuz its on their end, and I hear them fine. shoulder, none, side, whatever, I'm being told I sound bad.

Try experimenting with speaking real softly. My rezound's mic is so sensitive, it get s over driven quite easily. When using a bt headset, good luck, you need to whisper.
