    More and more people seem to be having issues with dodgy SD cards, me included.

    The link below sends you to a site where you can download a small programme (windows only) to test your flash device. You can also upload your results to the site to warn people of dodgy sellers.

    Granted it only tells you after you have purchased the card if its dodgy, but it provides you with valuable ammo with dealing with a dodgy seller.

    A lot of cards sold on ebay especially shipping out of hong kong are defective in some way. Manufacturers are known to sell defective cards to bazaar operators for super cheap. These cards look authentic as they have come from the same line as the good cards.

    Completely agree, there are no superficial differences. Even when the drive is mounted to a computer it will show the right amount but the majority of it will be unusable.

    These are my results.

    32GB Micro HCSD Card from Ebay
    The media is likely to be defective.

    It figures I see this after I bought a card from HongKong on Ebay, this guy has literally 13 thousand positive feedback though so who knows.
