I don't know if this has been asked before, I am sure someone will direct me to the correct place if it has.
I have the Asus tf700 and a rooted lg esteem ms910.
I would like to use my phone as an access point to tether the tablet. Everything I have read says the phone will tether with a laptop. Can this be done with the tablet. Hope this question makes sense

I use WiFi Tether For Root Users, available in the Play Store, it works well.

My phone is rooted, my tablet is not, I do't want to void the warranty, will this still work?

Yes it will still work. Only the phone needs to be rooted for this to work. You run the WiFi Tether on your phone, then connect the tablet to it like you would any other WiFi hotspot.
