Text message alert tone

Hi all, I have just recently got the desire hd and was wondering if it was possible to use an old favourite text message tone from my old phone. For the life of me I can't see how to do it. The file is an mp3 and saved with my music and also in recieved blue tooth files.

Make a folder called 'ringtones' on your sdcard and make sure the mp3 is in there
