text sound while on the phone

so this is really bugging me. when i am on the phone i have no clue i have recieved a text other then the light flashing.if im holding the phone to my face the flashing light is useless.is there a way to have the evo make a sound or vibrate to let me know i got a text. thanks every one

If you download ChompSMS, you will receive a notification while on the phone. Only thing is, the other person on the line will be able to hear it, too.

Kinda funny how that was one of the biggest complaints for the Palm Pre...hearing any notifications and the caller hear it too.

interesting i have a chime noise that goes off when im talking and get a text.

with handcent there is an option to allow notifications while on a call. sound or vibrate..

notification settings->notification settings -> end of this list there are two options "sound on call" "vibrate on call"
