In the G3, do exactly this
1) go to main messaging screen (shows your text history view)
2) tap menu in lower left > Settings > scroll to "set text templates"

from here you can follow it intuitively. however, failing that.. next >>

On this screen it displays all the hard wired texts. tap one to begin your EDIT. add your text and SAVE in upper right. there ya go.

THAT new created text template and all other text templates are now accessible when you select from the texting function.
