text through wifi? through smsSupport

    My basement has terrible signal and i was wondering if there is a way to text through my wifi. Id rather not have to use a text through wifi app if there is one.

    Google Voice. You end up sending all your texts over the data network, and there is no MMS support, but they are minor tradeoffs for free texting.

    another vote for google voice... i got rid of my texting plan (saves $5) and am trying to ween my wife off of hers ($20)

    Google voice lets you send texts for free, but when I read their help, I thought it said that incoming ones were simply forwarded to your phone, so you would be charged for those as normal. Did I misunderstand?

    That's a setting, essentially for non-Android users who want to use google voice, but can't run a google-voice app on their device.

    Go to the web control panel and turn off the forwarding of SMS... unless of course you want it on.
