Just upgraded my cell phone to the HTC Android Incredible. So far, an awesome machine!!

Under the Settings heading is Text-to-Speech. When I open this up I notice the subheading Install voice data is not highlighted. Also this seems like a demo. Specifically where can this app and install it into my phone?

    Thanks in advance.

Just as far as texting goes, handcent has the option in its landscape for both tts and stt. Might not be exactly what you are looking for, but hope it helps.

If you open up a text message, touch the box to text in, then when the keyboard comes up just push the microphone at the bottom. This will give you speech to text. No app needed!

Edit: oh you said text to speech, not speech to text?

I think the OP is questioning Text to speech, not the other way around.

Yes, at least that's how I understood the question. tisab2 wants to know what speech synthesis app that will allow tts.

When you receive a text the box shows up with the text in it. The button on the far right of.the line of.4 buttons hit it it will read you the text. Then you hit the mic button and you can speech to text

Same for me. OP, this is what you need: the TTS extended. It is in the Market, however if you have Google Translate, just open that and it will automatically redirect you to the TTS extended plug-in.
