Help Texting backgrounds?

Okay so I finally convinced my hubby into letting me get the EVO. I got rid of my stupid Instinct and got the EVO. I am TOTALLY in love and have not have one thing go wrong with it *knock on wood*. I get the occasional odd message but nothing that can't be fixed by moving out of the concrete block we live in. Annnyways. I was on Damn You Auto Correct! - Funny iPhone Fails and Autocorrect Horror Stories and keep seeing a lot of Iphone "screenshots" of texts and they look really cool with different backgrounds and texts and what not. Is there a way to get that on the EVO? Is it like certain themes to download or something?

If you get the handcent sms it allows you to use any picture on your phone as a backround for texts.

May i ask, what didn't you like about handcent specifically? Maybe we can help you configure it more to your liking as its highly customizable

Handcent is the only text app i have seen that allows an extreme amout of customization. Spend a little time with the settings and you will love it.

Fair enough but I'm not sure whats not to like about it. You can customize it to be damn near anything you want it to be, including very similar to the stock messaging app but with back round pics in the message screen.

I am using it now, just for the pop up. I do like the customization, but I can do with out the pics in the background and all that crap. The stock messaging app works fine to me, all the other pop up apps are not good so I am sticking with handcent for now.

handcent is awesome! I just today discovered you can make an account and get even more themes!! Im using some cool android logo themes, i love it!

Ok so I gave handcent another try and so far so good. I didn't like the fact before that I had double notifications but I was able to turn that off and now only have the one. When I tried it before it was on my Moment so maybe I didn't like it cause it I hated that phone so much lol. Anyways thanks guys got it all set up and got what I wanted! Thanks!
