Help Texting plugged in and not

When I text "unplugged" (power cord) the touch screen is normal, responsive, and usable. When I text "plugged" in, the screen acts like there is a "force field" on top of it, in other words I have to put more pressure on the screen to be able to use the on screen keyboard. Haven't noticed it on surfing or doing other things, just the onscreen keyboard. It just started recently and just seems weird. I have the HTC EVO, pretty much standard, normal updates, etc. Haven't updated anything in a couple of weeks, but this just started. Not a show stopper but a little annoying is all.
