    Hi
My name is Brenda and purchased my Samsung Captivate about 2 weeks ago.
I was told that you can speak to text, I did the setting for text to speech. No were do they have a microphone to speak to text. Can anyone tell me how?

Hi Brenda - Glad your onboard with the Android Forums - You might want to check the forum for your Samsung Captivate, I know the droid X has a mic icon that gets you started in text - Check the link below for your phone.

there is probably another way to do it but you can use android keyboard and they have speech to text , the mic button is near bottom of keyboard near the spacebar. Also theres an app called handcent i think that you can do voice to text messaging as well.

Download "Vlingo". it's an app that will help you. All you say is stuff like:

Text John Doe Message "what time is dinner tonight?"

and it will bring it up. You just click "send".

Handcent will let you speak your text messages as well, and I believe can also "read" your received text messages to you.
